Woodward, Oklahoma -

A major winter storm blew across parts of northwest Oklahoma leaving thousands without power and stranded in their homes.

Woodward will be digging out of snow over the next few days, and residents might even get a little bit of cabin fever as highways and roads are still shut down.

News 9 Pilot Jim Gardner took Bob Mills SkyNews9 HD over some of the hardest hit areas Tuesday morning.

On his flight, he followed Highway 182 going west toward Woodward. Gardner passed over several vehicles that were forced to stop from the white out conditions. He saw three semis that were stranded on the road and other cars buried in snow.

As Gardner got closer into town, he found more damage. He circled Wal-Mart Garden Center where the roof caved in from the heavy amount of snow.

Gardner also came across a scene at the Siemens building, where part of the roof had collapsed. Gardner said, "From the looks of it, it doesn't look like anyone knows this has happened. There's no car tracks or footprints."

At the airport, Gardner saw just how thick the snowfall is after the snow slid down the side of a hangar.
