OKLAHOMA CITY -

What do you do when a record snow storm slams into some parts of Oklahoma but skips some cities, and leads to loud complaints about your weather-predicting skills?

You sing the blues; or the blues with a bit of a country twang.

Several members of the News 9 Weather Team – including Chief Meteorologist Gary England and meteorologists Mike Armstrong, Matt Mahler and Lacey Swope – came up with their own version of the country classic "Take This Job and Shove It." The weather team's version, called "Take This Snow and Toss It," came after days of watching the storm system march toward Oklahoma, bringing with it the promise of record snowfall totals.

While the storm dumped nearly two feet of snow in northwestern Oklahoma, and led to power outages and highway closings, the system defied predictions and just skimmed Oklahoma City, leaving barely a trace of snow.

"We get it. There's people in Oklahoma City [who wanted] to see the snow, too," said News 9 Meteorologist Michael Armstrong. "It's been particularly bad in some areas, but in the metro it wasn't too bad."

After long days of watching the weather, the News 9 Weather Team decided to blow off some steam with a little music.

"When you deal with a big storm, when it's all said and done, you have to have a little bit of an outlet. And so we had a little bit of fun."
