Williams And Price Earn All-SAC Selections; Four Lady Evangels Named To All-Academic Squad

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

For the second straight season, senior forward Kourtni Williams and senior guard Parris Price have been named to the All-Sooner Athletic Conference teams. Williams is a second-team pick, while Price earned third-team honors.

Williams is scoring a SAC-leading 17.7 points per game and has scored in double-figures every game this season, a feat no other Lady Evangel has accomplished over an entire season since becoming an NAIA school. The 5'11 Fayetteville, Ark. native is also third in the league in rebounding (8.5 rpg).

Price is ninth in the league in scoring (12.3 ppg) and ranks fifth in assists (3.0 apg). She has also recorded a team-high 69 steals and is shooting a team-best 77.8 percent (84-of-108) from the free-throw line.

Four Lady Evangels were also named to the conference's All-Academic team, including: Williams (3.56 GPA, Marketing), senior guard Sarah Martin (3.9, Business Administration), junior forward Kelsie Dutton (3.96, Business Administration/ English) and junior guard Chelsea Key (3.48, Behavioral Science).

MACU is gearing up for an appearance in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, starting Wednesday evening (Feb. 27). The eighth-seeded Lady Evangels will face ninth-seeded USAO Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla. on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University.

The Lady Evangels swept the two meetings with USAO earlier this season.
