Authorities believe alcohol may have played a role in two injury wrecks early Saturday. The first took place at 2:15 a.m. on Interstate 44 near 193rd East Avenue.

A woman was westbound on the interstate when she left the roadway, crossed a center median and the eastbound lanes before hitting a concrete barrier. Her car rolled and came to rest on its top.

The woman tried to tell authorities that she was not driving, but witnesses to the wreck say no one else was in the car. The woman was taken to a local hospital for injuries. Police expected to arrest her for driving under the influence after she is released.

A few minutes later, Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked a non-injury wreck on Highway 169 just north of 56th Street North. Officials say a woman was driving northbound on 169 when she went to the left and hit a barrier wall, spinning out.

Troopers took her to the Owasso Police Department for a DUI test. The highway was closed for about an hour.
