Ninth-ranked Oklahoma Baptist rallied from a 18-point deficit to foil the upset hopes of Oklahoma City, 77-72 Thursday night in the Noble Complex.

The Bison shot 25 percent from the field in the second half and caught fire for 61 percent in the second half to rally past a Stars team that shot 53 percent for the game.

OBU trailed 39-24 at halftime, but only turned the ball over once in the second half. The Bison fell behind 44-26 with 19:27 left in the game.

The Bison got a three-pointer by Chase Adams to start a 94-second, 10-0 run, which included five points by David Johnson, trimming the lead to 44-36 with 17:54 to go.

OCU had gotten the lead back out to 11, 64-53, with 8:41 to go, but a 7-0 OBU run – again triggered by an Adams three-pointer – trimmed the lead to 64-60 with 6:35 to play.

OBU still trailed by four with 4:18 left, but Marques Anderson cut it to two with 3:36 left and the Bison momentum was undeniable.

OCU's Terry Johnson hit a free throw, but Cale Jackson got two for the Bison to trim the gap to 70-69 with 2:26 left.

Anderson got to the free throw line and made two for a 71-70 OBU lead at the 1:42 mark, but Troynell Adams got OCU a 72-71 lead with a jumper with 1:24 showing.

OBU missed inside, but Anderson secured the rebound, got the ball to Jackson, who found Johnson open for a clutch three-pointer and a 74-72 Bison lead.

The Stars missed two shots in the next possession before Chase Adams grabbed the rebound and was fouled. Adams hit a free throw to make it 75-72. Johnson got a steal and Kendall Parks hit a free throw for a 76-72 lead. He missed the second, but David Johnson snuck inside and got the rebound and was fouled.

David Johnson scored the last point of the game with eight seconds left to lock up the win.

David Johnson led the Bison with 20 points and three steals while Clinton Houston worked for 15 points. Anderson scored all 14 of his points in the second half to go with a team-high eight rebounds and Chase Adams added 12 points.

Terry Johnson led OCU with 27 points.
