Southeastern will set out on its first Great American Conference road trip looking to right its league record when it heads to Arkadelphia, Ark., to face Ouachita Baptist Feb. 22 and 23.

The Savage Storm open the series with a 2 p.m. contest on Friday, Feb. 22, and will follow that with a double-header on Feb. 23 slated for a noon start.

SE enters the weekend with a 4-4 mark overall on the season and a 1-2 record in league play.

The Storm is coming off a 4-2 win against Northwood, sweeping its two-game, home-and-away season series with the knights.

Prior to that contest, SE opened the GAC season with a 5-4 win over Henderson State before dropping both ends of a double-header last Saturday to the Reddies.

The Storm have gotten solid pitching thus far on the year with the staff posting a 3.84 ERA.

That group is led by relievers Levi Lewis and Evan Rice who has each picked up wins, while Lewis is at a 2.00 ERA and Rice is at 3.12.

Brandon Marris has posted a 3.60 ERA to lead SE starts, but has yet to record a decision in three starts and a team-high 15.0 innings of work.

Vance Woodruff has suffered even worse luck, also posting a 3.60 ERA, but coming out of it with an 0-2 record despite striking out 12 across from five walks.

Evan Ramsey has come on strong to lead the Storm with a .353 average since working into the everyday lineup and has a pair of home runs along with a team-high eight RBI thanks to a pair of four RBI outings.

Ryan Salter is just over .300 at .303 and has a team-best eight stolen bases.

Southeastern has been bitten by the error bug thus far on the season, posting a .955 fielding percentage over eight games with 13 errors that have led to 14 of the 43 runs that opponents have scored to be unearned.

The Tigers enter the weekend with a 6-5-1 record on the year and a 2-1 mark in league play after taking two-out-of-three from East Central.

OBU is led on offense by the duo of Chris Tavares and Keegan Ghidotti who are both hitting .318 on the year.

Tavares has a pair of doubles and nine RBI, while Ghidotti has two home runs on the year and a team-high 12 RBI.

The Tiger pitching staff is led by Austin Watson who is 1-1 on the year in three starts with a 1.74 ERA, while the staff as a whole has a 5.88 ERA on the season.
