OKLAHOMA CITY -

As Oklahoma braces for a second round of a wintry mix, utility and road crews are standing by. Power companies are concerned about freezing lines while Oklahoma City works to keep roads safe.

Late Wednesday, no major power issues had been reported. Oklahoma City officials say they are expecting a mess for Thursday morning's commute.

While conditions were wet and soggy Wednesday, there is a possibility of ice and snow Thursday. Oklahoma City may deploy as many as 33 additional trucks to keep streets clear, according to spokesperson Kristy Yager.

"We just need people to leave early if they are going to go to work," Yager said. "Take plenty of time."

With an ice storm expected for parts of Arkansas, OG&E is set to send up to 50 employees to our eastern neighbor, but the power company says treating its customers is the top priority. The most likely trouble for OG&E includes falling tree limbs and freezing lines. But, just water in general can be a headache.

"We haven't had a lot of rain for a while, so sometimes that moisture can get into some of the equipment up on the poles [and] on the lines," OG&E spokesperson Kathleen O'Shey said.

The temperature is expected to climb above freezing as the day progresses Thursday.
