SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -
The snow caused some problems east of the Oklahoma City
metro area in Wednesday. Enough snow fell in Shawnee for some parents to even
keep their kids home from school.
The Wiley family was on its way to school Wednesday
morning when a car slid on the ice and rear ended their car. Their mom, Amanda,
decided to take them back home instead.
That's when the kids decided to build snowmen and start a
snowball fight. When News 9 showed up it was all about making the best snowman.
Most of the precipitation moved out of the area by early
afternoon and the snow started to melt. Wednesday late afternoon, Shawnee got
some rain and sleet showers, but nothing accumulated.
