Three Oklahoma Athletes Claim NCCAA Student-Athlete Of The Week Honors

Devin Harris, Oklahoma Wesleyan, along with Aminata Fall and Amy Madden, Southern Nazarene, earned the National Christian College Athletic Association's Student-Athlete of the Week awards.

Harris, a junior, earned this week's NCCAA men's basketball division I honor. Fall, a sophomore, and Madden, a senior, claimed the women's basketball division I and softball division I honors, respectively.

Other Oklahoma nominees for the award are listed, but not bolded.

NCCAA Men's Basketball Division I

Devin Harris, junior, Oklahoma Wesleyan University
Will Reinke, senior, Oklahoma Christian University
Charlie Shorter, senior, Mid-America Christian University

Devin Harris, junior guard from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, had a fantastic week leading Oklahoma Wesleyan in a number of key areas. On Tuesday night Oklahoma Wesleyan played at Haskell University, where Devin scored 30 points, including 10-12 from the free throw line. He was 2-5 from behind the arc. Also, to go along with his 30 points he had 6 assist, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and added a blocked shot. Then on Friday night against Central Christian College he scored 28 points and added a whopping 16 assist to lead his team to victory in an overtime thriller. He also had 5 rebounds and 4 steals to add to this brilliant performance. Then to cap of the week on Saturday, against conference rival College of the Ozarks, Devin scored 33 points in just under 34 minutes of action. He did not stop there. He also added 7 assist, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal.

NCAA Women's Basketball Division I

Aminata Fall, sophomore, Southern Nazarene University
Megan James, junior, Oklahoma Wesleyan University
Kourtni Williams, senior, Mid-America Christian University

Aminata Fall, sophomore centerfielder from Southern Nazarene University, averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds a game in two wins over Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello. She also had a block in each game giving her 65 blocks for the season and that set a new Great American Conference record for blocks. She had 16 points and 16 rebounds in a 95-80 win over Southern Arkansas and had a career-high 24 points and 14 rebounds, in just 23 minutes of play, in a 77-55 win over Arkansas-Monticello. SNU won its season-high sixth straight game. She also had five steals in the week.

Brayden Barrientez, senior, Oklahoma Christian University
Grayson Haws, freshman, Southern Nazarene University

NCCAA Baseball Division I

Jordan Lopez, sophomore, Oklahoma Christian University

NCCAA Softball Division I

Erica Love, senior, Mid-America Christian University
Amy Madden, senior, Southern Nazarene University
Charly Owen, freshman, Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College
Kendra Pierce, sophomore, Oklahoma Christian University
Ashley Scott, sophomore, Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College

Amy Madden, senior from Southern Nazarene University, hit .615 (8-for-13) on the week with four home runs, nine RBIs, six runs scored, three walks, two sacrifice flies and struck out just once. She went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI and a walk in a 13-2 route of Oklahoma Christian. She then went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, one run scored a home run in an 8-0 win over Nebraska-Kearney. She also went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, two runs scored and two home runs along with a walk in a 4-0 win over Rockhurst. She then closed the week by going 1-for-2 with three RBIs, a run scored and a home run against Missouri Southern.
