Oklahoma City University had five players in double figures and never trailed in an 88-65 win over St. Gregory's Saturday afternoon at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars shot 53 percent from the floor in snapping a two-game losing skid. The Cavaliers have dropped 16 in a row.

The game featured physical play with a combined 56 fouls called - including nine technicals. The teams combined to shoot 53 free throws.

SGU senior Fayzon Richey led all scorers with 23 points on 10 of 19 shooting. Terry Johnson had a team-high 19 for OCU.

The Cavs finished with a solid shooting night - 50 percent - but committed 18 turnovers. Thirteen of those miscues came in a first half that saw the visitors dig a big hole.

The Stars made five of their first seven shots and led 11-5 five minutes in. It was 13-7 OCU with 13:34 left in the first half when the home team went on a 13-2 run to push the lead to 17 with 6:48 remaining. The Cavs had five turnovers and were only 1 of 6 from the floor during that stretch.

OCU had a 46-24 advantage at the break after shooting 56 percent from the floor. The Stars' Charlton Jones had a game-high 13 points at halftime.

Richey scored five of his 21 second-half points within the first four minutes of the period, and Dylan Lemley's three-pointer at the 15:18 mark trimmed the lead to 18. But OCU responded with an 11-3 run over the next 4:37 to extend its lead to 66-40, virtually putting the game out of reach.

The Stars pushed that advantage to as many as 32, and SGU got no closer than 21 the rest of the way.

Lemley was the only other Cavalier in double figures, finishing with 12 points on 4 of 7 shooting. It was his best scoring output since Nov. 30 against Johnson & Wales. Richey has scored 20 or more points 13 times this season.

SGU hosts Rogers State Wednesday at 8 p.m.
