Oklahoma Baptist scored seven runs in the first inning and held off Peru State for a 13-8 victory Friday at Bison Field at Ford Park.

OBU was out-hit 12-7 but got a three great innings of relief from Chris Rogers to stem the Bobcat rally.

The Bison scored seven runs in the first inning on three hits. Jeff Johnson drew a bases-loaded walk and Kevin Hatch scored on a wild pitch before Kyle Wagner ripped a two-run double for a 4-0 Bison lead.

Garrett Roberts connected for another two-run double and Yael Colon scored on a wild pitch for the seventh run of the inning.

OBU went ahead 9-0 in the second on a two-run double by Matt Page.

The Bobcats made it 9-1 in the third inning on a solo home run by Ronald Tanner, but the Bison answered with three runs in the home half as Roberts scored on a wild pitch before a two-run double by Johnson.

Peru State added a run in the fourth and sixth in the sixth on five hits, including home runs by Jake Wright and Derrick Davis to cut OBU's lead to 12-8.

Rogers came in with no outs and one on in the seventh and struck out eight batters while allowing no hits or walks.

The Bison added the 13th run in the eighth inning on a two-out RBI triple by Page.

Page and Mason Ankeney had two of OBU's seven hits in the game.
