Grand Lake
TULSA, Oklahoma -
More than
100,000 spectators are expected to pump $26 million into the Tulsa-area economy
when the Bassmaster Classic comes to town.
The fishing
tournament runs Friday through next Sunday on Grand Lake O' The Cherokees and
the scope of the event may surprise people who have never witnessed events on
the professional bass fishing tour.
The event
is also bringing in about 350 volunteers to help ensure it runs smoothly.
The Tulsa
World reports about 200 paid staff members and contractors are involved in the
production.
Weigh-ins will be conducted in
Tulsa at the Bok Center after anglers leave the water at about 3 p.m. each day,
giving spectators something to see at the water and in the city.
