An Oklahoma City security guard was arrested after police say they found marijuana and a loaded gun in his car Wednesday night.
Benjamin Zane Gutierrez, 22, was arrested on several charges, including possession of marijuana, transporting loaded pistol, driving under suspension, improper right turn, and drug paraphernalia violation.
According to police, just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers were patrolling on Reno Avenue, when they noticed a car turning right onto Reno from S. May. Police say the car failed to turn into the lane nearest the inside curb line.
Officers stopped the vehicle in the 2500 block of W. Reno. They say they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle.
The driver, Gutierrez, was wearing a security uniform at the time. He did not have a valid Oklahoma driver's license. Officers say they saw a firearm in the driver's door side compartment when Gutierrez walked out of the car. The gun was loaded and chambered.
Officers say they could smell a strong odor of marijuana on Gutierrez's person.
Police found drug paraphernalia used to smoke marijuana in the car. They also found marijuana packaged in a clear plastic baggie in Gutierrez's sock.
Gutierrez was then taken into custody and transported to the Oklahoma County Jail.
