MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -

Firefighters have gained control over a fire at a house in Midwest City.

Crews were called to the house at 2329 N. Towry around 2:30 p.m. The fire is just north of Steed Elementary School, near Reno and Midwest Boulevard.

Smoke was pouring from the roof of the home when Bob Mills SkyNews 9 and pilot Jim Gardner arrived. Fortunately, no one was inside the home, but News 9 has learned there were cats and dogs in the house. It's believed the animals made it out all right.

It's not known how the fire started.
