After defeating West Virginia last weekend, the No. 2 Oklahoma women's gymnastics squad finished a sweep of the Big 12 regular season with a win over Iowa State, 197.625-194.675, on Friday.

The Sooners' score was its third-highest in program history and broke its season high team score for the second-straight week, drawing energy from the crowd of 7,732 as part of Iowa State's annual Beauty and the Beast meet paired with wrestling.

OU has now won 11-straight Big 12 regular season contests, including six straight over the Cyclones over the past six seasons.

"We had some moments of greatness and some moments where we needed to be sharper," said OU head coach K.J. Kindler. "Our team is still growing and that's a good thing."

The Sooners' 197.625 team score also marks the fourth-straight meet of 197 or better, a feat accomplished just twice before by OU, once in 2003 and again in 2012. Oklahoma is currently the only team in the country this seaosn to have three scores above 197 on the road.

OU smashed its previous season high on vault, scoring 49.450 to improve on the Sooners' previous best of 49.300 set last week. Freshman Keeley Kmieciak set a career high, leading Oklahoma with a 9.925. Junior Madison Mooring added a 9.9 while three gymnasts - Taylor Spears, Brie Olson and Haley Scaman - each were given scores of 9.875.

Oklahoma came out hot from the start, with the Sooners' first three gymnasts on bars hitting career highs. Sophomore Becca Clark went first earning a 9.9 and was followed by sophomore Erica Brewer's career-best score of 9.925 and Kmieciak with a 9.9, tying her career high. The Sooners finished with a 49.400 on the event.

Spears earned 9.975 for her beam routine, earning the first 10.0 score of her career and the second by a Sooner this season. The score capped off a career-best 39.575 in the all-around for the junior. Also on beam, sophomore Lauren Alexander continued to show why she's one of the best in the country on beam, scoring a 9.925.

"I took it one skill at a time like I always do," Spears said. "I was in my zone and was very in tune with everything K.J. said to me beforehand. I knew it was a good routine and I hoped that they'd reward it. It was really cool and the reaction from my teammates was cool too, seeing their pure happiness for me."

Scaman earned the top score of the night, scoring a 9.95 for the second week in a row. OU scored 49.250 overall on the event, including a 9.875 from Olson.

"Haley's floor and Taylor's beam routines are what you're hoping to do at the end of the year," Kindler said. "You want to put together what looks like a perfect routine."

The Sooners will next compete in the Perfect 10 Challenge at the COX Convention Center in Oklahoma City along with BYU, TWU and Boise State on Friday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. CT.
