Emotional responses from many of you about the Minco Police Dog going up for auction, after her partner Sgt. Mycal Prince was killed in Afghanistan. Sgt. Prince's family desperately wants the dog.
Sammy from Mustang says: "I'm ashamed to call Minco my Home Town. Minco City Leader Should Be Jumping through hoops to make this happen."
From Kenzie: "We have to waste our tax money on so many useless things and people. It would make me as a taxpayer so much happier to know my tax money was spent on that K9 and given to the family that deserves him."
Curtis from Ponca City: "Laws are there for a reason, and to my understanding, all that is required by law is to take bids for surplus, not accept bids from the highest bidder. So why doesn't the town take bids from whomever, but only accept the bid from the family?"
But Ann writes: "Trust me, I worked for the government for 30 years and they can do whatever they want to do, they just need some prodding, and I'm sure that your piece will do it."
Michelle in Stillwater asks: "If the police officer retires, is it not so that the canine officer is also retired and usually placed with the handler?"
Finally Patty says: "My husband and I have decided since we pay taxes and actually paid for the dog that the family can have the dog back!!!"
