Over the years, News 9 has introduced you to a little boy named Fletcher Burns several times. He has lived at the Children's Center in Bethany for seven years.

But now a major milestone: he has been allowed to go home. Little 8-year-old Fletcher has actually become quite the celebrity.

His Facebook page called Fletcher's fans has almost 3,800 likes!

So, it's really only fitting that his send off from the Children's Center was fit for a Rock Star.

In his northwest Oklahoma City home Tuesday, 8-year-old Fletcher was playing with his mom and adjusting to a whole new life.

For the past seven years, the Children's Center in Bethany was home. And all the folks who worked here became his family.

"Really amazing people here," cried his mother Denise.

On Monday, they all lined up to say goodbye and watch as the little boy doctors said would never even sit up on his own literally walked out of the hospital.

"We've talked about it every day, I think it's going to be hard for him," said Denise.

Fletcher has Epidermal Nevus Syndrome, which is rare skin condition as well as rickets, heart and lung disease. He has been at the Children's Center since he was one year old.

His infectious smile, and determined personality, captured the hearts of everyone there and usually our News 9 cameras whenever we were covering a story at the Center.

So final photo op was not be an easy one for anyone. There were lots of tears.

"We're just going to get stronger and better and get a new normal and keep going forward," said Denise.

Fletcher goes to school at Bethany. His family also has a nurse come in at night to help them.
