OCU's O'Halloran And Swink Post Top Finishes In Missouri Southern Lion Invitational

Oklahoma City University's Kate O'Halloran and Hunter Swink won their respective events and broke school records Saturday at the Missouri Southern Lion Invitational at the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center.

O'Halloran, a freshman from Dublin, Ireland, won the women's 800 meter run with a time of two minutes and 16 seconds. Swink, a freshman from Oklahoma City, finished first in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:57. O'Halloran earned an A standard to qualify for the NAIA Indoor Championships and Swink earned a B standard.

Stephen Broadhurst, a freshman from Warrington, England, posted a time of 4:18 and finished in second place in the men's mile. Senior Nick Bonfiglio, of Oklahoma City, followed in 17th place, freshman Kenneth Kimani, of Eldoret, Kenya, finished 21st and freshman Jon Torres, of Norman, Okla., placed 30th.

Freshman Sam Henry, of Oklahoma City, notched a 42nd-place finish in the men's 800 meters.

OCU will return to action in the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational on Feb. 9 at the Mosier Indoor Track Facility in Norman, Okla.
