The second-ranked Oklahoma State wrestling team earned its second win of the weekend with a 25-9 victory over Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, on Sunday.

"The first four matches were a little slow for us, and we didn't get much of a kick start," coach John Smith said. "Eddie Klimara really set the tone for the rest of the dual for us, putting points on the board at critical times. It was a good weekend for us. I'm ready to get in some good training before National Duals."

The dual started at 174 pounds, where Perry picked up a 3-0 decision over No. 20 Tanner Weatherman. A loss at 184 and 197 pounds gave ISU its only lead of the day, going into the heavyweight match with a 6-3 team advantage.

At 285 pounds, Alan Gelogaev produced a 6-5 win over Matt Gibson, and was followed by an 11-2 major decision for freshman 125-pounder Klimara over Ryak Finch. Klimara picked up three takedowns and two nearfalls to get the bonus points.

"I knew I had to go out there and wrestle tough," Klimara said. "I had to move my feet and attack and stay in control the whole match. When I got the takedown and back points in the first, I felt pretty confident the rest of the match."

Jon Morrison's match resulted in six points for the Cowboys as ISU's John Meeks injury defaulted late in the second period.

Another loss for the Cowboys came at a closely battled bout at 141 pounds.

Jordan Oliver remains undefeated with a 7-1 win over Max Mayfield, and Alex Dieringer sealed the win for OSU, defeating Logan Molina, 4-2.

In the final match of the day, No. 3 Tyler Caldwell earned the final three points for the Cowboys, picking up a takedown with one second left in the first period. He kept his lead throughout the match, winning 8-2 over No. 18 Mike Moreno.

The Pokes will take a break from competition next week before traveling to Kent, Ohio, on Feb. 16 to compete at the NWCA National Duals.
