Just before 11:30 a.m. Friday, animal welfare workers captured both of the horses.
The horses were first spotted around 7:30 a.m. between Harrah and Peebly roads. They apparently escaped from a nearby property, but their owners have not been found.

The horses were not on the highway, but drivers began stopping and parking along the side of I-40 to help round them up.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Jennifer Fisher said stopped drivers slowed traffic, and led to congestion in the area. She encouraged drivers not to slow down to help keep traffic flowing safely.
