One man has been killed and another hospitalized after the driver of a semi lost control and crashed into a house in Alva.

According to the Alva Police Department, a truck carrying rocks was traveling on Oklahoma Boulevard Monday morning, when it was involved in an accident with other vehicles. The driver  lost control, veered off the road, hit some power poles and then plowed into a house.

Homeowner Bob Ellis, 84, was inside the house at the time. Ellis was killed when the truck slammed into his home. Ellis' daughter, 61-year-old Sherrill Meyer, was also inside the home. She was treated and released.
