Oklahoma City police arrest a man accused of breaking into a Laundromat and trying to steal money from coin machines.
It happened on Friday, January 25 at Unique Wash, located at 1801 N. Portland. According to a police report, a security guard for a nearby business heard an alarm going off at Unique Wash. When he arrived to check it out, police say he saw Raymond Jay Templeton, 49, trying to pry open a coin machine with a pry bar. Templeton saw the guard and took off out of an already broken window and ran.
The security guard chased him down and held him until police officers arrived. Police later watched security video taken from the business. The video showed the suspect break a window, enter the business, then pry open a coin machine. He then attempted to pry open another one. He was holding a light blue t-shirt over his face. Police found the pry bar a short distance from where Templeton was taken into custody. They also found a light blue t-shirt in the pocket of his hoodie.
Police booked him into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of second degree burglary. Templeton has several felony convictions, one in Oklahoma County for concealing stolen property. He is also wanted in Comanche County for trying to pass a forged document.
