Drew Allen, OU's third-string quarterback, says he is considering the option to transfer schools his final year of eligibility.

He tweeted this statement from his Twitter account today:

"For the record: I have a permission to contact form that allows me to look around, talk to other schools. Doesn't mean I am transferring yet."

Pete Morris with OU Athletics also confirmed the school has not received a formal request from Allen to transfer yet.

Speculation has sprung up following the 2012 season about Allen's future. He did not see action in 2012 after being supplanted by Blake Bell as second in line behind Landry Jones. Quarterback competition is also possible from Trevor Knight, a redshirt freshman, who starred on the scout team.

Allen has been at OU since 2009. He redshirted his freshman year and played five games during his sophomore campaign in 2011, where he completed 9 of 16 passes for 71 yards.
