OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested an Edmond man accused of threatening a "Newtown" style attack on an Oklahoma County district judge and two attorneys.

On January 17, an attorney for Christopher Arthur Durham, 42, told deputies about a conversation with his client. He said Durham was upset about his court case. Durham reportedly said the judge and opposing attorneys needed to be careful because he was capable of doing something similar to what happened to Newtown.

The comment was a reference to a gunman's December attack that killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Durham's attorney informed the judge about the threat, as well as the Oklahoma Bar Association. Deputies arrested Durham on three counts of threatening an act of violence to do physical harm.
