A Tulsa restaurant employee turned the tables on a potential robber Tuesday night.

Tulsa Police say an employee of Popeye's at Pine Street and Peoria Avenue was taking out the trash just before 11 p.m. when a man pulled out a handgun and hit him with the weapon several times.

The employee reacted by punching the man in the face.

The startled robber ran away.

The employee received some minor injuries in the assault but declined a trip to the hospital.
