Tulsa Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in her south Tulsa home.

Investigators are looking for her 17-year-old son, who was there when the body was discovered.

The victim was found at about 9:45 a.m. at her home on South Urbana near 71st Street.

Police say the teenaged son took off before police got there. Now, they want to find him to question the teenager about his mothers' death.

Tulsa police say 56-year-old Linda Laird's parents had not been able to reach her for several days. When she didn't answer her phone Tuesday morning, they went to her home to check on her.

"We had a relative that had a pattern of calling her every morning to check on her. She did not answer this morning; drove over here and discovered her," said Officer Leland Ashley.

Laird's body was found inside her home. A Medical Examiner was called in to investigate the cause of death, while police waited on a search warrant to collect evidence in the home.

"Ultimately, when we first get here, to check on well beings and things like that, we can enter a residence, but to collect evidence we have to back out and get a search warrant," Ashley said.

Police say there is a prior history of domestic related calls to the residence.

"There are some unusual circumstances around her death," Ashley said.

17-Year-old Henry Laird, who goes by Hank, was at the home when the body of his mother was discovered, but left before officers arrived.

"Once the relative started asking him questions, what have you, he left the residence," Ashley said.

He left with a man dressed in black.

Hank Laird is 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black and green pajama pants.

The photo police provided the media is a few years old. Laird now has a pink hue to his hair color.

"There is a possibility he's in a vehicle now, but from my understanding, when he left he was on foot," Ashley said.

There are enough suspicious circumstances around the death that Tulsa Police are treating this is as Tulsa's 9th homicide of 2013.

Anyone that has seen Hank Laird should call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS. All callers remain anonymous.
