Flowers Foods says it is way too early in the process of determining if the closed Hostess bakery in Tulsa will reopen.

On Friday, Flowers Foods announced it had reached a deal to purchase Hostess Brands.

The company still must go before the U.S. Bankruptcy court, giving other firms a chance to bid on Hostess.

Flowers Foods says once the deal is approved by the court, then they will see if the Tulsa bakery is a viable option for the Georgia company.

The Tulsa bakery employed 160 workers.

The Hostess closure included five bakery outlet stores and employees in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Sand Springs, Bartlesville and Muskogee.
