News 9 is learning more about the Oklahoma mother, shot and killed in St. Louis.

Four days after Ebony Jackson's 3-month-old baby was found abandoned in a St. Louis neighborhood, police found her body in the trunk of her car.

Police are still trying to figure out what lead to her murder. Police say, Jackson was visiting family in St. Louis when she went missing. Family members never saw Jackson. Now, they're demanding justice.

"Whoever this is, if you think they won't kill again, you are sadly mistaken," said an emotional family friend.

Jan. 2 was the last time family had heard anything from Ebony Jackson. Her 3-month old son was found in a car seat, unharmed 2 days later in the hallway of a St. Louis area apartment complex. A resident found the baby, and called police.

Tuesday morning, Jackson's car was found in St. Louis, and taken to the county crime lab. But it wasn't until a search warrant was issued when her remains were found in the trunk of her car. An autopsy determined, Jackson was shot in the head.

"That's scary to think about, that somebody right down the street, that I barely knew, died," said a neighbor in Moore.

"She was really nice, and waved to me," said neighbor Jadeah Lewis.

Neighbors say Jackson lived with her baby's father in Moore. We're told she left him a note before leaving for St. Louis, saying she needed space.

"I've never heard any kind of noise, or disturbance out there at all," said neighbor, Gary Lunow.

An emotional close friend of Jackson, has a message for the killer.

"You will be experiencing the headache that a mothers is now experiencing from her only child, and a son who now doesn't have his mother," said a family friend.

"And now it's time to move heaven and earth to find out who the culprit is," said Chief Perry Hopkins, Brekenridge Hills PD.

St. Louis area police are following up on a number of leads in connection to Jackson's murder. The 3-month old baby, Donavon Prom will remain in Missouri state custody, at least until a paternity test is completed.

Paternity test results won't be available until tomorrow, at the earliest, and even after the results are released, we're told a judge will make the final decision on where to place the child.
