A Helena man died after crashing his car into a pasture on a private property in Alfalfa County Sunday morning. Authorities say he suffered an unknown medical condition before the crash.

It happened at about 10 a.m. Sunday, on a private property on Caddo Road, half mile east of County Road 630 in Alfalfa County.

Henry Boyd Dewitt, 83, was backing his vehicle out of a private drive onto County Road 630, when he suffered an unknown medical condition and accelerated the car, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol's collision report.

Troopers say the vehicle then crossed County Road 630 and entered a field. It continued traveling east through the field, striking a farm structure before coming to rest in a pasture.

Dewitt was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to the medical condition.

Several agencies, including the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Alfalfa County EMS, the Helena police and fire departments, responded to the crash.
