Police: Man Died From Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound At Bethany Apartment

BETHANY, Oklahoma -

Police say a man found dead at an apartment in Bethany Thursday afternoon actually shot himself.

Oklahoma City and Bethany police responded to a shooting around 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Western Oaks apartment complex located at N.W. 23rd Street and Glade.

When officers arrived, they found one adult man with a gunshot wound to the chest inside one of the apartments. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday, police determined that the man actually shot himself in the chest. The man's son and a friend were inside the apartment. They were questioned and released.

Investigators say the man had health problems and left goodbye messages for family.

Police have not released the man's identity.
