A car thief set a stolen vehicle on fire Friday morning on I-44 near I-40.
OKLAHOMA CITY -
Oklahoma City police are searching for a car thief who set fire to a stolen vehicle, and abandoned it on Interstate 44.
Around 9 a.m., traffic on southbound I-44 near Interstate 40 came to a stop when a burning car began spewing thick, black smoke into the air. Police say someone left the car running, and then set it on fire.
Police later discovered the car had been stolen.
Oklahoma City firefighters doused the flames. After a wrecker removed the car, traffic quickly began moving again.
