Nextdoor.com allows residents to create private websites for their neighborhoods.
OKLAHOMA CITY -
More than two dozen Oklahoma City neighborhoods have plugged
into a new social media site designed to draw neighborhoods closer
together.
Nextdoor.com allows residents to create private websites for
their neighborhoods. The website is a forum where neighbors ask neighbors
for help to find services they need and it is free.

In the last year, 25 Oklahoma City neighborhoods have signed
up with Nextdoor.com. Bob and Jan Helsel have lived in Briarwoods Estates
for more than 40 years. They say Nextdoor.com has been a great help with
security.
"It's actually been instrumental in catching a couple of
burglars recently," Bob Helsel said. "And they are both serving time in jail
right now."
Helsel says the web service also helped a family locate a
missing dog recently as well.
