Police responded to a disturbance in southwest Oklahoma City, and found drugs and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash in a suspect's car.

Just before 5:30 a.m. on January 1, someone called 911 to report a man was causing a disturbance at a home in the 1600 block of Linden Street, near Exchange Avenue and Penn. When an officer arrived, he saw a large amount of money in bags sitting on the backset of a Jeep parked in the driveway.

The officer found 33-year-old Elias Amado standing inside the ransacked house. The officer said in his police report that the destruction in the home was so extensive, he was worried about the safety of anyone else who may be inside.

The officer searched the house and discovered Amado was alone. Amado told police he lived there, and had become upset because his wife left him, and he didn't know how to reach her.

The officer took Amado into custody and searched the Jeep. He called for backup, and police discovered more than $425,000 in the vehicle. They also found more than a pound of a substance that tested positive for crystal methamphetamine.

Amado was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of drug trafficking and possession of drug proceeds.
