MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -

Midwest City police are looking for some BB gun bandits. More than two dozen car windows were shot out, and a teenage girl was inside one of those cars when it happened.

Police are looking for at least two people in this case. Both are believed to be juveniles. But the father of the 17-year-old girl who was shot at says this was more than just a harmless prank.

"The idea of this happening in such a rural area quiet calm neighborhood it's just unbelievable," David Perry said. His daughter was the one inside an SUV that was hit.

When you open the car door, you can see just how lucky David Perry's daughter really is, considering the BB was aimed right at her head.

"That's when you realize had this been anything beyond a BB or pellet gun a higher caliber gun this could have been a tragic end of the year," Perry said.

Perry said this happened Monday afternoon, in broad daylight, near the intersection S. Moore Avenue and Ricky Lane. That's where his daughter was waiting for a friend to come home, when her sense of security was shattered.

"Again, if she was in the wrong place at the wrong time I get that," said Perry. " But the idea that she is sitting minding her own business in a vehicle, supposed to be safe, it's just senseless."

Just a couple miles away, there is shattered glass all over the street, from where the BB gun bandits shot at another car window.

"I'm really not happy about it," said Anthony Cavers, whose daughter's car was hit. "This is a quiet neighborhood, everybody knows each other around here. And for something like this to happen, especially around the end of the holidays it's really not good at all."

Luckily, Cavers' neighbor had a surveillance camera that caught this glimpse of the perpetrator's red truck, which he hopes helps police catch the people responsible.

So does Perry.

"I told the police officers I hope they catch them first," Perry said.

Midwest City police say several witnesses saw that same red truck.

"We're looking for a red Chevy or GMC small pickup, an S10 or a Sonoma with step sides, bright red," said Major Robert Cornelison with the Midwest City police department. "And there was some question about the bumper, whether it was gone or one of those shaved custom bumpers.

As a result of that detailed description, police have already received a tip about where to find one of those potential suspects.
