Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are trying to determine if a burglary in Clinton is connected to a homicide that happened less than an hour, and one-half mile, away.

Around 2:20 a.m. Thursday, someone shot 35-year-old Jessica Kauley and 26-year-old Shawn Spottedwolf at a home in the 1800 block of Hunt Street. Kauley was rushed to a hospital, where she died. Spottedwolf received non-life threatening injuries.

About 40 minutes later, Clinton Police received a 911 call from a home about one-half mile away from the double shooting. The homeowner managed to catch and detain a burglary suspect he found in his home. Police booked 22-year-old Samuel Keeto into the Clinton City Jail for first-degree burglary.

OSBI agents are processing both crime scenes and interviewing multiple witnesses to determine if the homicide and burglary are connected.

News 9 is sending a crew to Clinton to learn more about the investigation. Watch News 9 tonight at 10 p.m. for an update.
