This winter storm is almost a guarantee that travel will be dangerous on Christmas Day. Emergency managers are urging people to stay home and off the roads.

If history has taught us anything about these winter storms, it is Oklahomans will get behind the wheel and try to get from point A to point B no matter what the weather is like outside.

That's why road crews were out and about on Monday getting overpasses and bridges pre-treated for the possibility of ice and snow.

Oklahoma City has 32 trucks ready to go once the snow begins to fall. ODOT has 550 trucks ready to roll across the state. The goal is try to and make it safe for those who do decide to travel.

If you like to gamble and you plan to get out in the snow on Tuesday, you're urged to take extra clothes with you, some food and water and make sure you have a cell phone charger.

The idea here is to be prepared. Because if you get stuck, you may be there for a while.
