Forecasters say parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas could see snow this Christmas.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a special weather statement Saturday warning that significant accumulations of snowfall are possible across parts of Arkansas around the holiday.

Forecasters say precipitation will begin to spread across Arkansas starting late Monday and continuing into Tuesday.

Meteorologist Craig Sullivan with the National Weather Service in Tulsa, Okla., says 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall on parts of southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock says the precipitation will start off as rain across the southern and central parts of Arkansas on Christmas morning. Sleet or snow could mix in as the storm moves northward.
