A Green Country grandmother has died of injuries after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Cherry Street. JoAnn Carlson passed away at about 3 a.m. Saturday, according to her granddaughter.

She was struck by a light-colored car with "fancy wheels," according to witnesses. Police say the car sustained damage to the windshield.

Her grandchildren have been lobbying with the Mayor's office for better lighting on the street and searching for surveillance video from local businesses.

Granddaughter Elizabeth Carlson says a memorial has been set up for her grandmother on Cherry Street.

Anyone who can help Tulsa Police locate the driver is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
