Nathan Hale High School was on lockdown Friday morning after a student handed out bullets as Christmas gifts, according to Chris Payne of Tulsa Public Schools. Campus police were able to recover the bullets that had been handed out.

"We found fewer than a dozen and no gun," said Public Information Officer Chris Payne.

"There will be consequences for the student who brought them. I think it's probably going to be fairly significant," he said.

The incident took place one week after the mass student killings in Connecticut. Bartlesville. Caney Valley and Locust Grove Schools have also had closures this week due to student threats.

Earlier this month, one person was arrested and two hospitalized after a fight in the Hale cafeteria. Hale is located at 6960 East 21st Street.
