MACU Senior Andrew Webster Earns First-Team NSCAA/Continental Tires NCCAA All-American Honor

For the third straight season, Mid-America Christian University senior Andrew Webster has earned a first-team selection on the NSCAA/Continental Tires NCCAA Men's Soccer All-America team.

Webster, a native of Liverpool, England, has been a steady defensive anchor for the Evangels the past four seasons. His defensive presence played a big role in the Evangels notching four shutouts this season. He was also a big contributor on the offensive end by ranking third on the team with four goals along with one assist this year.

He helped the Evangels record their best season since joining the NAIA, including earning a spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament for the first time in the program's history.

MACU Senior Becca Anderson Named To NCCAA All-Region Team

Mid-America Christian University senior Becca Anderson has been selected to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-Central Region team.

Anderson helped the Lady Evangels advance to the NCCAA Central Regional title match for the first time since 2009 by ranking second on the team in kills (188) despite missing the final six matches of the season with an injury.

The Cleburne, Texas native also led the team in solo blocks (31) and tied for team-high honors in total blocks (137). Her 137 blocks tied for second in the Sooner Athletic Conference and her 1.49 blocks per game ranks fifth in NAIA Division I. Anderson holds the MACU career record for blocks (397) and is second all-time in kills (761) since the school joined the NAIA.

Anderson also played a key role in helping the Lady Evangels record their most victories this season (18) since the program joined the NAIA.

Byrd, Nimal Highlight Seven Lady Evangels on NCCAA All-Region Squad

Seniors Kassie Byrd and Julia Nimal have earned first-team National Christian Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Region selections. Juniors Michelle Medina and Chelsea Swisher were second-team honorees, while seniors Melissa Dobie, Karen Moreno and freshman Rachel Lynn earned honorable-mention recognition.

Byrd and Nimal have re-wrote the MACU Women's Soccer record book since joining the NAIA. The duo is the top two scorers in school history, with Nimal recording 132 points and followed closely by Byrd's 130 points. Byrd is the career goal leader with 58 scores and Nimal's 50 goals rank second. Nimal is also the Lady Evangels' all-time assist leader with 30 career helpers. This season it was more of the same, with Byrd scoring a team-high 12 goals and Nimal dishing out a team-best seven assists and tying for second with eight goals.

Swisher followed up her impressive freshman season with a solid sophomore campaign, tying for second on the team with eight goals along with four assists. Medina gave the Lady Evangels a solid midfield presence with three assists and also scored one goal.

Dobie has been a mainstay in the net for the Lady Evangels the past three seasons, ranking as the school's career leader in shutouts (24), saves (360) and goals-against-average (1.23). Moreno has given the Lady Evangels a defensive anchor during her four-year career and Lynn had a solid defensive presence this year as a freshman in 19 starts.

The Lady Evangels advanced to the NCCAA Central Regional semifinals before falling 5-1 to eventual regional champ Southern Nazarene University.
