TULSA, Oklahoma -

Secret Santa struck again as an anonymous donor dropped a gold, South African Krugerrand into a Salvation Army kettle in Tulsa.

The coin was donated last Saturday. It's worth more than $1,700.

The Krugerrand was wrapped in a two-dollar bill and was given on a day when Tulsa Gold and Silver was matching donations.

"I mean that's $3,400 there in just one coin, so we're delighted for the generosity of whoever it is that placed the coin in our kettle," said Major Jim Taylor with the Salvation Army.

The appearance of a gold Krugerrand in a Salvation Army kettle has become a Tulsa tradition. It's happened for the past several years. In 2009, it showed up in Oklahoma city, instead.

Tulsa Gold and Silver is matching kettle donations again this Saturday.
