On Tuesday, a judge sentenced a Warr Acres man to a total of 160 years behind bars, after a jury found him guilty of sexually abusing a child.

This hefty sentence showed exactly how the judge and the jury felt about the heinous nature of this crime. A crime that to this day the man accused says he is not guilty of at all.

As he left the courtroom after his sentencing, Antonio Cervantes Jr. maintained his innocence.

Despite his denials, Cervantes was convicted of raping and molesting a 13-year-old family member for a period of two years.

"Yeah he's still professing his innocence," said Scott Rowland, Oklahoma County's First Assistant District Attorney. "But clearly, he's not innocent."

In November, an Oklahoma County jury heard days of testimony and found him guilty on a total of 70 counts of sexual abuse against a child, and recommended a sentence of 40 years for each count. That would have added up to a total of 2800 years behind bars.

But the judge grouped a number of the charges together, and sentenced him to a total of 160 years in prison.

Cervantes, 37, will have to serve 85 percent of that sentence before he is eligible for parole.

When asked if about his sentence, and the fact that he would probably spend the rest of his life behind bars, he replied, "I'll spend more time in heaven. I'll be in heaven longer than that."

"We're satisfied that he is going to be incarcerated long enough that he won't harm anybody else," Rowland said.

Cervantes is appealing the decision, and asking for a new trial.

This is Cervantes' fifth felony conviction.

In the past, he was convicted of robbery by force and fear, bail jumping, drug possession, and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
