MOORE, Oklahoma -
Police are on the
hunt for a man posing as a police officer accused of battery, robbery and
sexual misconduct. Officers are asking for the public's help to put an end to
the impostor's crime spree.
Police in Moore
say the fake officer preyed on two victims just this week. Now, officers
throughout the metro are on alert for a man they say is raking up felonies left
and right.
"Some people get
their kicks in different ways … that's wrong," area resident Steven King said.
On Monday, police
say a man driving an Impala and dressed in police clothing pulled over a man
near a gas station at I-35 and NW 27th Street in Moore. Officers say
the fake officer ordered the driver to get out of his car. Then, police say the
impostor placed his victim in handcuffs, beat him and stole his wallet
containing nearly $700.
"A lot of crimes have been
committed all at one time," Sgt. Jeremy Lewis with Moore police said.

Employees at the gas station
said, sometime before or after the attack, the suspect filled up his Impala
with gas, paid for the gas and left.
One day later,
police say the impostor stopped a woman walking along City Avenue in Moore. The
woman says the fake officer ordered her into his car and drove a couple of
blocks before he asked her to show him her chest. That's when she left the car,
ran away and called 911.
"There are several
felony charges here and very serious crimes," Lewis said.
Police have
released the following description of the suspect:
- Black man
- 6' 4" tall
- Bald
- Heavy, muscular build
Police say the
suspect is driving a dark colored Chevy Impala with lights in the front grill.
Police in Moore do not drive Impalas, and they do not use their undercover cars
to pull people over. So, in Moore, look for lights on the top and the city seal
on the side of police cars. Police urge anyone who is suspicious while being
pulled over to call 911.
Officers hope surveillance video from both incidents will lead
them to the phony officer.
