Baylor 41, Oklahoma State 34: By The Numbers

Posted: Updated:
WACO, Texas -

It was a tough day for the Cowboys in Waco as OSU lost to Baylor for the first time since 2005. Here are some stats that help tell the story:

8 – OSU running back Joseph Randle had his eighth 100-yard game of the season against Baylor. Randle had 130 rushing yards on 5.7 yards per carry but didn't find the end zone. He also had three receptions for 17 yards.

12 – The number of catches for OSU sophomore receiver Josh Stewart. He finished the contest with 12 receptions for 147 yards and a touchdown. He also had one rush for 28 yards. It was Stewart's fourth games this season with double-digit receptions and it was the third time he's done it in the past four games. He also has two more games this year with nine catches.

38 – Brodrick Brown's streak of 38-straight starts at cornerback for OSU came to an end in Waco. It was the longest streak on the team. Linebacker Shaun Lewis now has the most consecutive starts with 31. Brown didn't start because of a foot injury sustained last Saturday against OU. Brown entered Saturday's game in the second quarter.

20 – With freshman corner Kevin Peterson starting in place of Brown, he became the 20th OSU player to make his first career start this season.

0 – The regular season interception total in 2012 for the vaunted corner tandem of Brodrick Brown and Justin Gilbert.

178 – Rushing yards for BU's Lache Seastrunk. Seastrunk decimated the OSU defense all game and delivered a huge blow to OSU's comeback hopes when he burst up the middle for a 76-yard touchdown with five minutes remaining in the game. The sophomore back averaged 11.2 yards per rush against a typically stout OSU run defense.

1 – OSU redshirt freshman receiver David Glidden scored his first career touchdown on an 18-yard reception in the fourth quarter to pull the game to within 41-34 with 1:16 remaining.

1,172 – Total yardage between the two teams. Baylor entered the game ranked No. 2 nationally in total offense and OSU entered at No. 5. BU finished with 615 yards to OSU's 557.

24 – Baylor scored 24 unanswered points after OSU took a 3-0 lead on the opening drive. It was a hole the Cowboys could never fully escape.
