Mother, 2 Sons Injured In NW OKC House Fire

A mother and her two sons were injured during a house fire in northwest Oklahoma City early Saturday morning.

According to the fire department, crews responded to the fire at a home located at N.W. 36th Street and Putnam Heights in Oklahoma City.

Fire officials say a mother and her two sons were inside the home when it caught on fire. They were transported to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The family told News 9 the mother is in the ICU with second degree burns on her body. She also suffered from smoke inhalation.

The two sons have been released from the hospital. One of them told us the fire started in the front of the house, possibly because of a space heater.

The fire has caused about $30,000 worth of damage to the home. Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
