EDMOND, Oklahoma -

Cox Communications' employees made a big donation Wednesday to an anti-bullying campaign in Oklahoma City.

They chose Edmond's Rachel's Challenge program out of 170 applicants to receive a $50,000 check.

The program is based on the first teen killed at Columbine High School, 17-year-old Rachel Scott. She believed if one person showed compassion, it would start a chain reaction.

The school district says the program has been successful in its middle schools and they plan on expanding it to their elementary and high schools.

"This money will absolutely benefit the social, physical and emotional well-being of our students," said Susan Parks-Schlepp with Edmond Public Schools.

The company's foundation, Cox Connects, also gave away $5,000 to 20 other non-profits in the state.
