Rape Charge Added Against Man Accused Of Killing 6-Year-Old Arkansas Girl

Prosecutors added a rape charge to the kidnapping and murder charges against a man accused of killing his 6-year-old neighbor in Bentonville, Arkansas, CBS affiliate KFSM in Fort Smith is reporting.

Zachary Holly, 28, was arrested Monday on suspicion of killing Jersey Bridgeman. He now faces charges of rape, capital murder, kidnapping and residential burglary.

Six-year-old Jersey was reported missing by her mother on the morning of November 20. Officers found her body in a nearby vacant house less than 15 minutes later.

About a year ago, Jersey's father and stepmother were charged with abuse after investigators found that they had chained her to a dresser to keep her from wandering around the house.

They both pleaded guilty in June to false imprisonment, permitting abuse of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor, and are now serving prison sentences.

Zachary Holly is being held without bond in a Benton County jail.
