KAY COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A one-vehicle crash has left a man from Perry, Oklahoma, critically injured Saturday night.

Troopers responded to the crash at 10:42 p.m. at Highland Road, half a mile east of 92nd Street in Kay County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1997 Mazda Truck driven by 47-year-old Michael Matthews was westbound on 92nd Street when it ran off the roadway to the left, striking an embankment.

The truck then rolled one full time, according to the OHP.

Matthews was transported to the hospital with a head injury. He is in critical condition. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Troopers say they did smell an odor of alcohol on Matthews. The cause of the collision is listed as "unsafe speed for road conditions" in the OHP collision report.
