While we celebrate the holidays with our friends and families, one man is spending his day giving back.

George Foster has numerous scars to remind him of what his life was like when he was a felon. Now, he's trying to change his ways. He says he spent more than 30 years in prison and has no desire to go back.

So, on this Thanksgiving, he is not only giving thanks, but giving back. He's washing cars for free in his neighborhood. And helping others who are homeless or down on their luck find a warm meal.

"I love these dudes out here," said George Foster this morning out in front of the home he's renting. "I try to give whatever food I got, and I don't make much. But if I got something and somebody's hungry, I'm giving it to them, if they need clothes, I'm giving it to them."

Coming up tonight at 6, News 9 Crime Tracker Adrianna Iwasinski will have more on George Foster's inspirational story and introduce you to one woman whose life he's touched.

George Foster Credits the City Rescue Mission and all those who help the mission with its programs to help the homeless, and inspire people like him to take advantage of that second chance.
