Oklahoma Baptist survived a sub-par night at the free throw line for a 54-51 men's basketball victory at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., Tuesday night.

OBU had a 51-44 lead with 29 seconds to play, but missed three of its last six free throws and had a controversial turnover to open the door for the Ravens.

Luke Norville hit a three-pointer to make it a four-point game and OBU was called for a five-second call as the Bison bench called for a timeout. The ball was awarded to Benedictine and Charlie Wallrap scored quickly to make it a two-point game with nine seconds left.

Kameron Price was fouled and hit one of two free throws for the 54-51 lead before Brett Fisher missed a three-pointer. Price gathered the rebound as time expired.

OBU trailed 28-27 at halftime but an 18-8 Bison run gave the visitors their biggest lead of the night at 50-40. The lead was only two before Cale Jackson made a three-pointer, was fouled and successfully completed the four-point play.

Hayden Darst had six points, Price five and Jackson four in that big run to give Bison a comfort zone.

Both teams shot 35 percent for the game and OBU's David Johnson was the lone double-figure scorer with 11 points.

OBU out-rebounded the Ravens, 38-31, led by Darst with nine caroms.

Benedictine dipped to 5-2 on the season as the Bison ended their win streak at five games.

OBU, now 6-0, hosts Northwood at 7 p.m. Friday and Evangel at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Midwest Sports Goods Classic in Shawnee. Rogers State plays the non-OBU opponent both days.
